Oxlot 9

Just north of Lake Pontchartrain on the Tchefuncte River, sits a 200 year old secret, situated amidst oak trees, nearly as old. Covington, home to roughly 9000, was one of the earliest cities settled in Louisiana by Europeans. Since its birth, Covington has become home to French and European immigrants, African Americans, and native southerners, which lead to its own, very unique version of Southern Louisiana culture.

Typically known for its classic cottages, Covington has seen a rebirth of the downtown district and with it a new enthusiasm and celebration of its history.

Oxlot 9 is a refreshing take on the upscale southern bistro in Covington, LA which is so named for the unique design of the city block. An ox-lot is a French inspired design for a centralized space in the middle of each city block, connected by an alleyway on each side.

Oxlot 9 has a simple yet sophisticated approach to seasonal ingredients found in the region served in a lively and comfortable setting. It is a place that reflects the character of a 200 year old city in every detail of its soul, from the welcome of the hostess to the last drink brought to the table by your server. It is a restaurant inspired by the beauty of the people, the gulf coast, and the heritage of the South.
