Planning a major strategic realignment, Centex, a top 5 U.S. builder and one of “America’s Most Admired Companies,” understood the fact that up to three-quarters of such strategic reorganizations are judged afterwards to have been failures by the companies themselves—primarily due to the lack of consideration for their current underlying organizational culture. Therefore, Slaughter Group was retained to profile the current culture and define the desired culture for a higher performing company going forward. Based on extensive input using our systematic approach, Slaughter Group helped identify and articulate their core values and mission. To assist in embedding the new culture on a daily basis, an implementation program was developed, creating new energy, a renewed sense of loyalty and pride, a new internal unity, and a shared commitment to a common purpose.
